Montreal
I spent Canada Day weekend visiting Paul in Montreal. Aside from coming down with the flu on Friday, and continuing to feeling gross until part way through Saturday, it was a fun trip. I’ve never been out to Montreal - the only other time in Quebec was for my grade 8 class trip, when we went to Quebec City.
I had never realized how beautiful a city Montreal was until this past weekend. I have a thing for old buildings, and there were old buildings in abundance.
We spent a good majority of the weekend walking (and my legs are still not happy with me!), but also managed some other fun stuff - watching Serenity on HD (ohgoshitwasamazing) and The Hogfather (fabulous! I am now wanting to start reading Terry Terry Pratchett), eating lots of yummy food, and walking through The Jazz Festival (which I am going to regret not actually staying and listening to for a while in a few years). I also dragged Paul into an art gallery, which had a lot of paintings done by Ron English and Kathie Olivas. While I realize that Carl featured Kathie Olivas a while back on his Friday Favourites, seeing the art in real life in person is so much more meaningful than seeing it on a computer screen.
If you wanted to see any of the photos I took, they can be viewed here.
But I am happy to be home now…. :)
