Where Fiction and Reality Meet

Saturday Morning Coffee Reads: September 14, 2013

So, as Blissdom 2013 draws near, I’m attempting to blog more. And to do more than just reviews (again). While people have been doing link sharing posts for years, I’ve always found it really interesting way to find new reads that wouldn’t normally come across my radar. Since there have been a lot of interesting reads in the past week, I thought this would be a great time to start off with this.

So, while I am spending my morning at the Fluxible 2013 conference, I’m leaving you with some reads that I’ve really liked this past week.

National Federation of the Blind and Others Demand E-Reader Accessibility (via @SDCBlind. Sigh – apparently manufacturers of e-readers aren’t too concerned with making them accesible for people with disabilities or vision problems.

Secret paintings discovered on the edge of books. “Called ‘fore-edge paintings’, the images only reveal themselves when a book’s pages are spread out.” You definitely need to check out the images of these awesome paintings!

Cover art released for Penguin Horror series curated by Guillermo del Toro. So… del Toro teamed up with Penguin to rerelease special editions of some of his fave horror stories – he’s going to be writing the introductions of each of these books. The covers are CREEPY and gorgeous!

Free book: The Creative Aid. Free ebook to help you get inspired for your next creative project!
