Once Upon A Bookshelf

Where Fiction and Reality Meet

Listed: Manitoba

This is our last stop on the cross-Canada Listed tour – Manitoba. I’ve actually only read a couple of these books…. but I was surprised by the variety I was able to find – stuff written by natives, a lot of YA books, and other cool looking Canadian lit. Have added a bunch of these to my TBR list. (Like I needed to add more!) Anyway, here are ten books that take place in the province of Manitoba.

  1. The Stone Diaries by Carol Shields. Originally Published 1993. LT.
  2. A Complicated Kindness by Miriam Toews. Originally Published 2004. LT.
  3. The Stone Angel by 1964. Originally Published Margaret Laurence. LT.
  4. True Confessions of a Heartless Girl by Martha Brooks. Originally Published 2004. LT.
  5. The Haunting of L by Howard Norman. Originally Published 2002. LT.
  6. Mistik Lake by Martha Brooks. Originally Published 2007. LT.
