What a great idea! I’ll try to post a list on my blog, too. I agree with so many of yours. Roy Gardner- ahhh, I haven’t thought about him in ages :-) I never liked him just because I loved Gilbert. And of course I’m with you on Guinevere and Lancelot, as I devoted a Riveters post to them. And don’t even get me started on Bella Swan or that shopaholic girl… Or Heathcliff, for that matter. Clearly, there are lots of characters I hate! This list will be fun to do!

Memory – Hmmm, I don’t remember what Tom Sawyer does at the end of Huck Finn. Will need to reread.

Kelly – hahaha. Yeah, quite the list. :) And urgh, backless, annoying females are NOT fun at all!! Why do you keep reading about them? Is it to see whether they’ll be less annoying in other books, or is it that they are some of those characters that you love to hate?

lol, that is quite the list, Court! I hate characters, too, so I can relate. :) My big hatred is for backless, annoying female characters in books.. Like Bella Swan. I am trying to remember the Anne of the Island character. I really need to reread. I haven’t read that series in its entirety since i was like 10! This means that the movies are sticking better in my head than the books.

The really interesting thing about me and my hatred is it seems to mean I read more books… Like, Helen of Troy and Lancelot and Guinevere. Totally get the dislike, but I keep reading about them…

I don’t hate too many characters with a fiery passion, but I’m with you all the way on Lancelot. He annoys the hell out of me with his, “Oh, look at me, I’m so perfect and I’m being all noble in betraying my best friend and YOU MUST LOVE ME!!!!ONE11!!!” I want to smack him one.

I also hate Tom Sawyer. He’s tolerable in his own book, but I wish I could reach into THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN and throttle him. His actions near the end of that story render him utterly repulsive.

And I don’t loathe him quite so much anymore, but I had some hardcore hatred for the vampire Armand, back in the day.
