I don’t make resolutions – I can never keep them, end up feeling guilty, and it’s a bad cycle. Goals, however, I can make and keep a lot easier. Maybe because they’re less intense. Plus, I don’t feel as guilty if I don’t keep them. So, I have a few goals for 2009 which I’m hoping to accomplish.
- Read 90 books this year. I reviewed 80 last year. Read about 85. I want to remember to blog about every book that I read. And I want to do 10 more than last year. Seems like a reasonable goal. That’s 7.5 books a month, or one book every 4 days. Totally do-able.
- Blog more. Yeah, I was totally planning on blogging about more than just books here – movies and plays I’ve seen, concerts I’ve been to, sewing projects I’ve finished… I kind of got started in that direction, but then it petered off. I’m going to be more diligent with that this year. On that end, I’m also going to be a better comment-responder-person. And a better commenter-on-other-blogs.
- Finish two sewing projects. I still need to make that Amy Butler purse that I’ve been meaning to for a few months now. I also want to make a bedskirt to match my duvet cover. And then, if I have the motivation to do so, I may make a pillow to match it as well.
- Own less books that I haven’t read. Ha. Hahaha. This probably won’t be done, but at least it’s good to aim at.
- Update my website. Yeah I totally started working on a new design for MoonSoar Designs, but it got put on the back burner while I was taking that online course. And I haven’t gotten around to tackling it again.
And that’s it. Seems pretty do-able. Do you make resolutions? Or do you set goals? What are they?

Good luck with your goals! Even I probably wouldn’t manage to keep things so basic… I am not good with lists, but I do tend to make them anyway!
