I would definately agree with you on most of what you have said.

However, I don't feel that it follows the same formula as The Axis Trilogy and The Wayfarer Redemption. There's just something.. off? not as well composed? i'm not sure, i can't quite put my finger on it.

Wayfarer Redemption was absolutely amazing. I would venture even to say that it was because Douglass had left off so many things from Axis Trilogy that allowed for her to write the Wayfarer Redemption.

Now i'm rambling... as both trilogies make you do! haha!

I guess what i'm trying to say is that it doesn't seem to follow the same formula, but at the same time it does. Confusing? It does follow the same formula with more characters and the like being brought in in different books eg. The Weeper, to add to the storyline, but it just doesn't feel like it has the same background story as the other two trilogies.

All up though, it is fantastic, and I love it. Cannot wait for the third. I just hope it has a fantastically great ending, just like Wayfarer had. Sad, but happy at the same time.

Oh, and Axis needs to get a life. Could he die already and go back to Azhure? Please? He lends about as much as Stardrifter did in Wayfarer - both discover different ways to access the star dance, but thats about as much as they lend to the plot line.
