Overall, I was so disappointed with this book. I had been looking forward to it so much, and it totally didn’t live up to the expectations that I had after Twilight. Even New Moon was better than this, and I’m not too fond of the whole Jacob Black stuff. Eclipse dragged. The first two books I read in one night, this one I had to push myself through. I wanted to strangle all but three of the characters. Even the vampire vs werewolves (and Edward vs Jacob) thing got old fast. And oh gosh the love triangle was so not impressive.
There were very few redeeming qualities to the book, and I’m not sure yet whether the good outweighs the bad… but, that said…
I still love Alice. She is positively adorable and I’m happy that she had a fair amount of time in the book. I also love that we went more in depth with Jasper and Rosalie in regards to their backgrounds as vampires and how they became vampires. It was so fun to explore that, and I’d love to hear more about Jasper’s life before he met with the Cullen’s. Wish we’d seen more of the rest of the family, however.
I don’t want to give up on this series, because Twilight is one of my favourite books, but…. I think I’m going to have to wait until I hear what others think of the next installment before I pick it up. Sad….

I think this is why I often don’t tend to read a series until all the books in it have come out. That way if it turns out that the latter books are totally disappointing, I’m not invested in the series. And, well, I hate having to wait to find out what happened if the books are good! :)

You are the third person on my friends list to say that this book was disappointing. :( I guess the one plus side to not having the book yet is that I’m preparing myself for my own disappointment.

Heather – Yeah, I’ve been tempted to do that, but I’m so impatient that I can’t wait all thoshe years to start the first one. ;)
Lisa – And maybe if you’re not expecting it to be so super fabulous, it will come across as not as bad as you expected which could be a good thing too!
sassymonkey – Alice certainly made the book bearable. I hope the next one IS better, and that it’s worthy of the one more chance. :)

I didn’t like the Jocab and bella thing. Before this book i liked jacob and felt bad for him cuz bella didn’t love him back. Now i dunno the new relationship thing put a damper on the story and make me feel bad for the whole triangle. I still liked the book but it definitely wasn’t my favourite.
After reading the book i was in a weird mood for days. i guess it’s a good thing for the author to have that much affect but it wasn’t a happy feeling. i’m really hoping that Breaking Dawn is better. I also hope that she releases Midnight Sun soon.

O, wow. I thought this was the best book yet in the series!
I’m so surprised that all of you were disenchanted with it!
I thought the love triangle was “gush-worthy” (for lack of a better phrase, LoL)
